Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much - Imvini Wethu

The impact of Covid-19 is felt by us all.  Its effects on people, our way of life and the economy continues and we’re all doing our best to navigate these uncharted waters.  One thing we’ve seen through these tough times, is people’s ability and desire to help each other through it, and our Hillebrand team in Germany have been doing exactly that; by sponsoring the Imvini Wethu wine project.

German wine business owners, wine importers and wine trade professionals recently launched a new wine named Imvini Wethu with the purpose to donate a large portion of its sales revenue to heritage programs in the Cape wine lands. The support being much needed by the South African wine trade, one of the hardest hit wine economies by the global pandemic.

The wine has been crafted in association with the Cape Winemakers Guild (CWG) Protégé Programme and the Old Vine Project.  This connection reflects the wine itself: the name Imvini Wethu means "our vines". The high-quality cuvée from Cinsault and Pinotage was made from old vines, so the wine also bears the "Certified Heritage Vineyards" seal, which guarantees that the vines are older than 35 years. The Cinsault grapes come from the second oldest vineyard in South Africa and the Pinotage grapes are 40 years old.

Imvini Wethu is available for international purchase by consumers through German-based wine retailers Capreo and Pellegrini.

It is our honour as wine shipping experts, to support the drinks industry and to be part of this project by transporting the wine to destination, ready for sale.
